Mercy College Youngstown Gets SimJunior

Kathryn Bubrig

Mercy College Youngstown received Mercy Health Foundation support for a new SimJunior Pediatric Simulator.

Using simulation provides a safe environment for students to practice clinical judgment. This allows integration of interactive learning strategies and scenarios into our classroom to better prepare our future Registered Nurses.

The arrival of the new SimJunior was celebrated by a welcoming "baby shower." SimJunior was named "Angelo Plasty" by level II nursing student Sunnie Hudak. Students participated in a simulation experience, games, cake, punch, and brought donation items to support the Centering Pregnancy program at Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
