Diversity, Inclusion and Retention

The mission of the Mercy College of Ohio Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Retention is to promote the academic and personal growth of all students regardless of variations in thoughts, experiences, values and traditions. To fulfill this mission, programs and services are offered that promote, enhance and strengthen diversity awareness, inclusion, high student retention, persistence, and graduation.

The Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Retention collaborates with other campus constituencies to encourage the recruitment and retention of faculty, staff, and students from underrepresented groups, incorporation of diversity in the curriculum and identify and remove barriers to student success.
Mercy College Diversity Statement

Multicultural Center
The Mercy College of Ohio Multicultural Center, located in Madison 5617, was created to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for students, faculty, and staff to gather, celebrate and support all persons regardless of variations in thoughts, experiences, values and traditions. The Multicultural Center offers programs and services that promote and enhance multicultural awareness, respect and appreciation.
Connect2Complete Program
Connect2Complete (C2C) is a peer mentorship and service learning program in which peer advocates work alongside faculty (professors) in classes, individually, in cohorts, and through social media platforms to help students be successful. Our main goal is equip students with the tools that are need for their college success which ultimately leads to graduation.
• Peer Advocates (PAs) will assist students in towards enhancing their student experience and livelihood by connecting them to campus and community resources that solves their issues.
• C2C will offer service learning opportunities, supporting the Office of Service Learning, in which students can participate.
• C2C will provide leadership development opportunities for students, equipping them with transferable knowledge, skills, and competencies that will be useful for future opportunities.
• C2C will hold several student success workshops and events on: time management, financial aid, stress management, note taking, etc.
