Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR) Information

Participating in the Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR) program prepares new Mercy College students for success in their academic endeavors and provides an opportunity to learn more about the campus community. Mercy College offers a variety of orientation (SOAR) experiences depending on if you are a land-based student at the Toledo or Youngstown campus, or are enrolled as an online program student. To best prepare for your Mercy College journey, please carefully read all of the SOAR information provided.
 
Please note that SOAR is a requirement for land-based students.
  • Toledo land-based students are required to attend SOAR. For additional information, and to register for a SOAR session, please visit: SOAR Toledo
  • Youngstown land-based students are required to attend an orientation in Youngstown. Please visit the following webpage for more information regarding the Youngstown Orientation process: Youngstown Student Information.
  • Online program students are highly encouraged to complete the online SOAR program prior to the first day of classes. The link for the online version of SOAR will be sent to your Mercy College email address four (4) weeks prior to the start of the semester. It will include information about important dates and deadlines; how to pay your bill; how to drop courses; how to add or make changes to your course schedule; an introduction to technology services, including the Canvas Learning Management System; review of College policies and procedures; review of academic and behavioral expectations; and, student services available to help you succeed.
