Career Opportunities

What employment opportunities are available for nurses?
While there has always been a need for traditional hospital nurses, there are now a large number of new positions emerging in home health, long-term, and ambulatory care. In the nursing profession you can, with formal and informal preparation, change careers within the field of nursing. For example, nurses have moved from acute care hospitals to home care or psychiatric units to critical care units. These opportunities exist in the private sector as well as in public health and in the military.
