Program Description
An Activity Director plans, organizes and develops the overall operation of the Activity Department to assure that an on-going program of activities is available to meet the interests and the physical, mental and psychosocial well being of each resident. The Activity Director participates in formulating the plan of care for each resident and ensures that the proper activities are presented to fit the plan. This course prepares you to work in a long term care, adult day care, or assisted living facility, senior centers and senior retirement communities. It is a very valuable profession and one that is critical to the development and stimulation of those they serve. The MEPAP – PART I follows the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals curriculum guidelines and is applicable toward national certification.
