Parents who have graduating high school seniors are welcome to attend Orientation. Please refer to the Orientation dates on the cover of the agenda. The dates marked with an asterisk(*) are designated for parents. This session will help parents make a transition as their students begin college. Also, the financial aid advisor will cover steps for the process.
The purple card is known as the matriculation card. This card reserves your spot at Mercy College so we can begin planning for your arrival. The card should be completed and returned when you receive your acceptance letter.
Students should start the financial aid process as soon as taxes are completed. The FASFA should be completed at least two weeks before coming to Orientation. This will allow the financial aid advisor to assist you with final steps of the process.
At Orientation, you can mingle with current students, faculty, and staff. You will be introduced to financial aid, registration, housing, Mercy College policy and procedures and get answers to your questions.
All students must complete Orientation before beginning classes at Mercy College. We have special sessions available in order to meet the needs of transfer students. Please refer to the Orientation Agenda for more information of these dates.
COMPASS testing must be completed at least 48 hours before Orientation. Your initial acceptance letter will describe the COMPASS testing procedure only if it is required of you. You will not be able to register if COMPASS testing is required and you fail to do so prior to Orientation.

The Registrar meets with students after the academic advising session to enter their class schedule. Students will leave Orientation with a semester schedule and will be ready to start classes.
At Orientation, each student will be assigned an academic advisor depending on the field of study. The advisor will help you decide the classes to take and discuss your Mercy College degree program. Students will meet with their academic advisor each semester to arrange their next semester schedule.
