Technical Requirements
The following minimum technical requirements will help ensure a smooth transition to the online learning environment.
- Operating Systems: Windows XP SP3 or MAC OS X 10.5
- Browsers: Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox 3
- Software: Microsoft Office 2003 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Plug-Ins: Flash 11, Adobe Reader 10, Java 1.6
- Hardware: Speakers and Microphone
- Connectivity: A high-speed internet connection suitable for viewing streaming video
At this time Mercy College of Ohio strongly suggests that students not rely on an iPad, iPhone, or iPod to complete course work. A computer with Flash capabilities is required to view multimedia (audio, video, and lectures) housed in our courses. If your mobile device does not support Flash media, anticipate the need for a Mac or PC computer (laptop, desktop).
