Apply For a First-time Student Scholarship
Eligible applicants:
- Must be accepted for admission to Mercy College of Northwest Ohio and have earned a high school grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Must be a first-time college student, newly enrolled at Mercy College.
- Must enroll for at least 12 credit hours.
The amount of the award is as follows:
- $2500 total for Associate of Science students at a rate of $500 per semester for five semesters.
- $4000 total for Bachelor of Science students at a rate of $500 per semester for eight semesters.
Terms of maintaining award:
- Once enrolled, a student must maintain full-time (at least 12 credit hours per semester) enrollment status.
- A student must remain in good standing with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7 on a 4.0 scale.
- There will be a one-semester grace period for an enrolled student who falls below the required cumulative GPA of 2.7. Should the student fail to meet the GPA requirements following the one-semester grace period, grant eligibility will be terminated.
- For Associate of Science students, the scholarship will be applied in increments of $500.00 to the fall, spring and summer semester tuition and fees, for a total of $1,500.00 for the first year. For the second year, scholarship will be applied in increments of $500.00 to the fall and spring semester tuition and fees. Students
must remain continuously enrolled over the five semesters which includes the summer between first and second year. Should continuous enrollment cease, the scholarship eligibility will end. - For Bachelor of Science students, scholarship will be applied in increments of $500.00, for a total of $1,000.00 per academic year, to fall and spring semester tuition and fees. Scholarship is not available for summer semester for bachelor of science students. Students must remain continuously enrolled for fall and spring semesters over a four year period in order to receive the scholarship. Should continuous enrollment cease, the scholarship eligibility will end.
