The following is a list of the current scholarships available to our Toledo Campus students. Since this list is subject to change, you are encouraged to work with the Financial Aid Office for assistance with the application process. The deadline to apply for scholarships is February 28.

Ashel & Dorothy Bryan Endowed Scholarship
- Current Mercy College student in good standing
- 3.0 GPA
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page demonstrating commitment to the Mercy College's motto of compassion and caring
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
$500 to be used for tuition and fees
Becky A. Kelley-Robarge BSN Endowed Scholarship
- New enrollee seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
- 3.0 GPA
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page explaining your choice of nursing as a career, specifically the BSN program, and why you would like to attend Mercy College
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
$500 to be used for tuition and fees
Beverly J. Kummer-Lower Endowed Scholarship Fund
- Student seeking an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology
- 3.0 GPA
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page explaining your choice of radiologic technology as a career and why you would like to attend Mercy College
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
$500 to be used for tuition and fees
Bishop James R. Hoffman Parish Scholarship
- Practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church who are nominated by the pastor of their home parish
- Demonstrated Christian leadership
- New full-time enrollee into a healthcare degree program
- Expressed willingness to participate actively in the Mercy College Campus Ministry/Service Learning Program
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page telling why you chose your major and why you would like to attend Mercy College
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
$500 per semester (excluding summer) to be used for tuition and fees
Renewable if 3.0 GPA, full-time enrollment, and participation in campus ministry/service learning program are maintained
Debbie H. McCoy Scholarship
- Current ADN student who has successfully completed all first level nursing courses and is eligible to begin the second level of the nursing program
- 3.0 GPA and good standing with the College
- Demonstrated evidence of clinical competence as validated in two letters of recommendation from previous clinical instructors
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page explaining why you chose nursing as a career and why you chose to attend Mercy College
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
$500 to be used for tuition and fees
First Time Student Scholarship
- 3.0 GPA
- Must be a first-time college student, newly enrolled at Mercy College
- Must enroll for at least 12 credit hours
- Thirty (30) scholarships awarded annually
- Associate of Science students may apply for a total of $2,500 at a rate of $500 per semester for five (5) semesters contingent on maintaining a GPA of 3.0 and continuing good standing as a student
- Bachelor of Science students may apply for a total of $4,000 at a rate of $500 per semester for eight (8) semesters contingent on maintaining a GPA of 3.0 and continuing good standing as a student
Frank & Clara Lenhart Memorial Scholarship
- Current Mercy College nursing student with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Commitment to the college's motto of compassion and caring
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
- Priority given to graduates of Michigan high schools and/or residents of Michigan
$500 to be used for tuition and fees
Golf Scramble Scholarship Fund
- New or current student
- 3.0 GPA
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page explaining the candidate's choice of area of study and reasons for choosing Mercy College
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
$500 to be used for tuition and fees
Health Information Technology Scholarship
- 3.0 GPA and 21 or higher on ACT for high school seniors
- 3.0 GPA for transfer students
- New student admitted to the HIT program
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
- Students must complete the program within two years for fall start and two and one half years for spring start
- Two awarded annually
- Full tuition and fees
- Renewable if 3.0 GPA and continuous enrollment in the HIT program are maintained
Irma Rutkowski Scholarship
As President of the Mercy Hospital Guild, Irma was instrumental in its transition to the Mercy College Auxiliary. In addition to leading the Auxiliary for ten years, Irma is coordinator of the Mercy Health Care Center Gift Shop volunteers.
- Student enrolled at Mercy College and in good academic standing
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page telling why you chose your major and chose to attend Mercy College
- Highest consideration will be given to students with the greatest financial need who are working toward self sufficiency and independence through their education.
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
- Two awarded annually
- $1,000 each to be used for tuition and fees
John R. Opial Mercy College Scholarship Fund
- High school senior who is admitted to Mercy College
- Priority will be given to the entering senior with the highest academic standing
$500 to be used for tuition and fees
Mary Beth Hayward Endowed Scholarship
- New or current BSN Completion or Pre-licensure student
- 3.0 GPA
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page demonstrating commitment to the Mercy values in the applicant's life
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
$500 to be used for tuition and fees
Mary Jo Urschalitz Scholarship
- New enrollee seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
- 3.0 GPA
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page explaining your choice of nursing as a career, specifically the BSN program, and why you would like to attend Mercy College
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
$500 to be used for tuition and fees
Mercy Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship
- Successful completion of all first level courses and eligibility to begin the second level of the program of study
- 3.0 GPA
- Demonstrate evidence of clinical competence on the basis of recommendations submitted by two previous clinical instructors
$500 to be used for tuition and fees
Mercy College Auxiliary Endowed Scholarship Fund
- Current Mercy College student
- 3.0 GPA
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
$500 per scholarship to be used for tuition and fees
Mercy College of Northwest Ohio Dean's Scholarship
- High school senior who is admitted to Mercy College
- 3.3 high school GPA and 21 or higher ACT or comparable SAT score
- One awarded annually
- $1,750 per semester
- Renewable for two or four years, depending on program of study
- 3.0 GPA and good standing at Mercy College
Mercy College of Northwest Ohio Presidential Scholarship
- High school senior who is admitted to Mercy College
- 3.5 high school GPA on a 4.0 scale and 25 or higher ACT or comparable SAT score
- One scholarship for full tuition and fees
- Two scholarships for half tuition and fees
- All scholarships are renewable annually for two or four years dependent on the program of study
- 3.3 GPA and good standing at Mercy College
Mercy Health Partners Diversity Scholarship
- Entering multicultural students who are admitted to Mercy College; multicultural student must be a member of one of the four federally recognized minority groups Ð Asian-American/Pacific Islander, Black/African-American, Hispanic/Latino or Native American Ð or a student with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and multiculturalism
- 3.0 GPA
- One non-renewable scholarship awarded annually
- $1,000 to be used for tuition and fees split equally over two semesters
Regueyra Family Memorial Scholarship
- Current nursing student
- Letter of recommendation from a clinical instructor addressing the student's nursing abilities and commitment to caring for patients with compassion
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page demonstrating commitment to the College's motto of compassion and caring
- One non-renewable scholarship awarded annually
- $500 to be used for tuition and fees
Ruth L. Kelly Nursing Scholarship
- Successfully completed all first level nursing courses and be eligible to begin the second level of the nursing program
- 3.0 GPA and good standing in the nursing program
- Two letters of recommendation from clinical instructors citing evidence of clinical competence
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page which describes the candidate's reason for choosing nursing as a career
- Pre-licensure students who have successfully completed all 300 level nursing courses
- 3.0 GPA and good standing in the nursing program
- Two letters of recommendation from clinical instructors citing evidence of clinical competence or a letter of recommendation from a current employer for BSN completion students
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page which describes the candidate's reason for choosing BSN education and nursing as a career
- Determined annually
Ruth Obert Kolwitz Scholarship
- Pre-licensure BSN students who have successfully completed all 200 level nursing courses
- 3.0 GPA and good standing with the College
- Two letters of recommendation from clinical instructors or faculty members citing evidence of clinical competence
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page which describes the candidate's reason for choosing BSN education and nursing as a career
- One non-renewable scholarship awarded annually
- $1,000 to be used for tuition and fees
St. Charles Mercy Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship
- New or current student in good standing
- 3.0 GPA
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
- Two non-renewable scholarships awarded annually
- $1,000 to be used for tuition and fees
Sister Patricia Ann Dalke, RSM Endowed Scholarship Fund
- New or current student enrolled in bachelor degree program
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page demonstrating commitment to the Mercy Core Values
- One non-renewable scholarship awarded annually
- $500 to be used for tuition and fees
Sister Phyllis Ann Gerold, RSM Endowed Scholarship for Nursing
- For ADN - successful completion of all first level courses
- For BSN - successful completion of all 100 level courses
- 3.0 GPA
- Two letters of recommendation from clinical instructors citing evidence of clinical competence
- Submit an essay of not more than one double-spaced, type written page which describes the candidate's reasons for nursing as a career
- One non-renewable scholarship awarded annually
- $500 to be used for tuition and fees
Susanne M. Prusakiewicz Smith & Michael C. Smith Memorial Scholarship
- New or current student with demonstrated academic excellence
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
- Preference is given to students majoring in Allied Health
- Three non-renewable scholarships awarded annually
- $500 to be used for tuition and fees
St. Vincent Mercy Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship
The scholarships provided by the Auxiliary are awarded to help students entering Mercy College who are in financial need and to perpetuate the Mercy core values of compassion, excellence, human dignity, justice, sacredness of life, and service. Particularly emphasis is placed on "service" in support of the mission of the Auxiliary.
- New or current student in good standing
- 3.0 GPA
- Demonstrated service within one's faith community or civic community as documented in an essay citing examples of service rendered within the past two (2) years
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
- Two non-renewable scholarships awarded
- $1,000 awarded for tuition and fees ($500 per semester)
Valerie Czerniak Ayres Scholarship
- New student in the ADN or BSN degree program in good standing
- Completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office by February 28
