Mission
The counseling mission is to promote personal growth and development for all students through personal counseling, group counseling, campus programming, teaching, and the creation of student policy.
Goals
In keeping with the mission, the goals are to:
- Support the mission, values and vision of the college in all its programs and services.
- Support the mission, values and vision of the Division of Student Formation in all its programs and services.
- Holistically promote personal and academic development of students.
- Compel students to take personal responsibility and authority for their personal and academic experiences.
- Foster self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-motivation in students.
- Serve as a resource and consultant for faculty and staff in their promotion of student success.
- To develop policy that safeguards our students’ mental health needs.
- Provide outreach to students, faculty and staff by classroom visits, therapy dog services, wellness programming and other mental health programming.
- Network with other mental health professionals to insure excellent service for all students.
