Welcome to Continuing Professional Education

As an institution dedicated to improving overall health care, Mercy College of Northwest Ohio provides educational opportunities through its Department of Continuing Professional Education. These opportunities include conferences, seminars and courses offered in a variety of settings and on varied schedules. There are courses for current healthcare professionals who are looking for required continuing education credits as well as those who are interested in new trends in their discipline. The Department also offers entry level courses or certificate programs for those interested in a healthcare career. Instructors are chosen specifically for their knowledge and proven expertise in the content area they are teaching.

New and exciting things continue to happen as our department changes to better serve our participants. Beginning January 7, 2007, we will “go live” with a new computer software that will allow participants to register and pay for courses on-line with a credit card. From the ease and comforts of your own home, you will be able to look through all the course offerings, read a course description, look up dates and times of classes, register, remit payment and receive a course confirmation. Click on the link on the right that says “CPE Courses and/or On-line Registration” to see all we have to offer.

We hope to make this online interaction a strength in many ways. Students will be able to view and sign up for Continuing Professional Education classes 24 hours a day with an opportunity for a continuous venue for questions, feedback and suggestions for future programming. We like to hear from you and value your interaction. Please be patient while we continue to evolve our site into the best possible registration tool. If you ever have a challenge signing up for a class via online registration we will still accept a paper registration by mail or fax. A printable registration form link is also on the right of this page.

Contract Training is Available! This term is often used in the business setting but certainly is applicable to any organization. Basically, if you are an employer and wish to offer specific healthcare training to your employees, we can set that up for you. We can accommodate weekends, evenings, during the lunch hour, or whatever parameters best meet your needs. Please call Mary Steitz at 419-251-1512 or email her at mary.steitz@mercycollege.edu to discuss details.

Mission Statement: The Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Department of Mercy College is committed to the delivery of excellent community and professional education that anticipates and responds to changes, needs and trends in healthcare.
