Payment Reminder – Spring 2011

ALL STUDENTS: Please log in to your EMPOWER account to make sure that your bill has been paid in full. Even if you have received a refund check earlier in the semester, please double-check your balance as many students have had book charges, YSU fees and/or ID replacement charges added to their accounts after refunds were processed.

Your account must be paid in full unless you have a current payment plan or pending financial aid. Business Holds have been placed on any accounts with outstanding balances. Summer and Fall 2011 Schedules and Registration

The Summer and Fall 2011 Schedules are available for viewing beginning Monday, February 28 on EmpowerME.

Registration for Summer and Fall 2011 will begin at 8:00 am on the below dates based on the number of credit hours you have earned:

March 21 60 + credit hours

March 22 30-59 credit hours

March 23 0-29 credit hours

Please remember to see your advisor prior to registering for classes.



Portfolios Are Due March 16!

For all students planning to graduate in Spring 2011 your Portfolios are due March 16, 2011 to Quinn Service in Academic Leadership on the fourth floor of the Madison building.  Please make sure to allow at least 5-7 minutes to check-in your Portfolio and print out a receipt for your records.  For more information please call Quinn Service at 419-251-8990 or email at quinn.service@mercycollege.edu.

Attention Students

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

The 2010 1098-T forms are now available. This form is used by eligible educational institutions to report qualified tuition expenses to the IRS as well as scholarships and/or grants as required by the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997. You will need to use this tax form if you are claiming your educational expenses as a deduction on your 2010 taxes.

The 1098-T is available on the web on your Empower Me account. Once you have logged in, click on the Financials tab and choose the link to the 1098-T form. Paper copies will also be mailed to your home address on or before January 31, 2011.

Mercy College of Northwest Ohio cannot answer tax questions. Please consult your tax advisor for advice on how to account for education-related expenses for 2010.
