Important Tax Information

The 2011 1098-T forms are now available. This form is used by eligible educational institutions to report qualified tuition expenses to the IRS as well as scholarships and/or grants as required by the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997. You will need to use this tax form if you are claiming your educational expenses as a deduction on your 2011 taxes.

The 1098-T is available on the web on your Empower Me account. Once you have logged in, click on the “Financials” tab and choose the link to the 1098-T form. Paper copies will also be mailed to your home address on or before January 31, 2012.

Mercy College of Ohio cannot answer tax questions. Please consult your tax advisor for advice on how to account for education-related expenses for 2011.

Important Billing Announcement

Attention Students:

The billing statements for Spring 2012 semester are now available. Please log in to your EMPOWER ME account to view your bill. If you do not have pending financial aid, your bill must be paid in full by Wednesday, February 15th, 2012. If you would like to set up a payment plan, please contact the Business Office no later than February 1, 2012.

Payments may be made online using a debit or credit card. You may pay in person in the Business Office by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover.

Mercy College Institutional Scholarships

Mercy College of Ohio, through generous gifts from individuals, friends, and alumni, as well as academic, professional and business organizations, is pleased to offer multiple scholarships.  The purpose of these scholarships is to give recognition and support to academically strong students attending Mercy College.  Please visit the Mercy College web site (http://www.mercycollege.edu/financial-aid/scholarships/) for up-to-date scholarship information and to fill out an application.  The deadline to apply is February 28, 2012.  These scholarships will be awarded for fall 2012.  If you have any questions, please contact the financial aid office at (419) 251-1219 or financialaid@mercycollege.edu.



How do I apply for financial aid at Mercy College?

The only form necessary to apply for federal and state financial aid (grants and loans) is the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).  The FAFSA is used to determine your eligibility.  For the 2012-13 academic year, the FAFSA application is now available on-line at http://www.fafsa.gov/.  Mercy College of Ohio’s school code is 030970-00.  If you have any questions, please contact the financial aid office at (419) 251-1219 or financialaid@mercycollege.edu.



Senior BSN Student Scholarship

Senior RN Student Scholarship

Wooster Community Hospital is offering a scholarship for senior level, BSN students.  Expenses up to $6000 for Senior Year in return for a service commitment ($2000 = 1 year).  This opportunity is for BSN students graduating by December 31, 2012.

Important Update! Spring 2012 Class Registration

Spring 2012 Registration is here!  Below are a few updates for the week of November 7, 2011:

  • BIO 210:H1 lab has moved to Thursdays from 5:30-8:20pm
  • BIO 201:W1 is now reserved for Nursing students in Youngstown
  • MTH 095:01 has been moved to Wednesdays from 12:00-1:50pm
  • ART 300:W2 has been CANCELLED
  • REL 101:W2 has been CANCELLED
  • COM 300:W2 has been CANCELLED
  • MTH 095: 02 has been CANCELLED

Registration is Open:

  • November 7, 2011 at 8am for students who have earned 60 + credit hours
  • November 8, 2011 at 8am for students who have earned 30+ credit hours
  • November 9, 2011 at 8am for students who have earned 0-29 credit hours

Student Records employees will be present in the Library Computer Lab from 8-10am to assist students with registration.
